Bangladesh Railway (BR) is the state-owned railway company of Bangladesh, operated under the Ministry of Railways. Established in 1862 during the British colonial period as Eastern Bengal Railway, it is one of the oldest railway networks in South Asia.
Today, Bangladesh Railway operates over 440 trains daily across a network spanning 2,955 km of track, serving over 507 stations nationwide. With more than 75,000 passengers traveling daily, BR is the backbone of long-distance land transportation in Bangladesh.
