1. Cancellation Rules

Online tickets purchased through the Bangladesh Railway e-ticketing portal can be cancelled subject to the following conditions:

Time Before Departure Cancellation Charge Refund Amount
More than 24 hours 15% of base fare + service charge Full base fare minus 15%
Between 4 and 24 hours 50% of base fare 50% of base fare only
Within 4 hours No refund Zero — ticket not refundable
After train departure No refund Zero — expired ticket

* The non-refundable online service charge of BDT 30 per ticket is not included in any refund.

2. How to Cancel

Go to Check PNR
Visit the PNR check page and enter your PNR number and mobile number

View Booking
Your confirmed booking details will be displayed

Request Cancellation
Click the "Cancel Ticket" button and confirm your request

Receive Confirmation
A cancellation confirmation SMS will be sent to your mobile

Await Refund
Refund will be processed within 7–10 working days

3. Refund Timeline

Approved refunds are processed as follows:

  • Mobile Banking (bKash, Nagad, Rocket): 3–5 working days
  • Credit/Debit Card: 7–10 working days (depends on your bank)
  • Internet Banking: 5–7 working days

4. Train Cancellation by Railway

If Bangladesh Railway cancels a train service due to unforeseen circumstances:

  • Full refund of the base fare and service charge will be issued
  • No cancellation charge will be applied
  • Passengers will be notified via SMS
  • Refund processed within 5 working days

5. Non-Refundable Scenarios

  • Tickets cancelled less than 4 hours before departure
  • No-show (passenger did not board the train)
  • Tickets purchased with fraudulent information
  • Duplicate booking cancellations where one ticket was already used
  • Online service charge (BDT 30) in all cases
